2. Full-Length ABZORB

One of its top features is the full-length ABZORB foam cushioning that provides firm shock protection to the foot.

The ABZORB shock protection system involves the use of Dupont Engage, Isoprene rubber, and other New Balance-owned materials to make it the ideal cushioning material. The ABZORB system of the New Balance 1223 is centered on the heel and the forefoot areas.

The cushioned heel is one of the reasons why this shoe is also renowned for its perfect fit. The shoe also comes with SBS pads to improve the cushioning system. The midsole are also protective and are made of dual-density compression-molded EVA for a more durable last.

The new model is praised for its better stability and the more durable but relatively softer outsole. Users of the shoe like the shoe’s overall comfortable fit first and foremost, and gives it a 90% rating out of a perfect 100%.
