Nike Zoom Victory Track Spike

Nike Zoom Victory Track Spike. The people at the Nike Sports Research Lab (NSRL) were looking for a way to make track spikes lighter. Indeed, they were successful in creating the Nike Zoom Victory Spike, which was just a little more than a hundred grams.

These were the pair of shoes used in the 2008 Olympic competitions, and the results from the users were very positive. Other shoes that were almost as light as this Nike Zoom Victory Spike had one problem; they were a bit heavier and will not last in longer distance track events.

The Nike Zoom Victory Spike started from just a concept about a suspension bridge. This concept was that of a bridge that was only held up by cables and can still support a lot of weight even on longer periods of time. They incorporated that technology and thus the Flywire Technology was born. Since the sock liner adds additional weight to a shoe, they replaced it with a single layer of lightweight suede. This also gave the idea that the weight from the threads in center seam can be reduced.

The center seam is the seam that holds the shoe together in the middle while water soluble thread will be used to sew them in place. Just before the Nike Zoom Victory Spike, is fitted with its lightweight suede sock liner, the center of the shoe is treated with a wet brush so that the thread will dissolve while still keeping the shoe strongly bonded. This method in production of the shoe removes even more weight as much as 1.2 grams.

Nike Zoom Victory Track Spike – Advantages :

1. Shoe construction uses the same technology of a suspension bridge, in a way that it only supports the vital points of the foot. This cuts away the unnecessary parts thus reducing weight while giving the foot incredible support.

2. The threads that were used are generally stronger than Kevlar and were called Vectran fibers. These ultra strong and lightweight fibers are less than the width of human hair but have far more tensile strength than steel.

3. At 1.2 grams sock liner is almost no weight at all, the athletes who wore the shoes noticed that they had the shoes on only after crossing the finish line.

4. An ultra lightweight shoe that almost feels like a second skin and not even noticeable it is there.

5. Allows a runner to concentrate and remain focused on the track and in winning the race, instead of being distracted by a fold in their sock or a tiny pebble entering their shoe. Often, those are one of the causes that races are lost or worse cause the runner to trip over and injure themselves and the other players.

The only disadvantage it has at the moment is its price. Already expensive for being a Nike, the use of the new Flywire technology all the more made it more expensive.

Nike Zoom Victory Track Spike – Experts Recommendation :

Long distance track runners, are not only physically prepared but mentally as well. The Nike Zoom Victory Spike is now out in the market. Now, even non-pro athletes and non-athletes alike can experience what the pros are wearing.

As one professional user said, like spikes coming out of your feet. You will barely notice it until you stop running and take time to look at your feet.
