Mizuno Lady Wave Rider 12 Running Shoes

I never imagined myself to be finding the right shoes I need with the likes of Mizuno Wave Rider 12. It's not that I'm a snob or all that but it's just that I had this misconception that Japanese/Asian made shoes wouldn't suit me at all. Caucasians have a different foot structure and naturally the difficulty of finding the right fit was something Mizuno, Asics or New Balance could not resolve. But then again, why do my feet hurt so much if American or European shoe makers knew what they were doing?

I finally got around to asking a friend who has a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider women's running shoes and asked her what she liked about them. She told me to get over my bigotry and try the shoes on instead and see for myself. I was no bigot, I was just naïve and ignorant and had my own dumb notions about the ways shoes are built and relied so much on Western sounding brand names. But I never found the perfect shoes with them; it made me realize that it was high time I took confidence in the Japanese made Mizuno Wave Rider shoes.

So Much for My Dumb Theory About Asian-made Shoes :

Now I found out that Mizuno shoes especially the Mizuno Wave creations were biomechanically engineered. Wow, that sounds cool but I honestly don't understand much of the term. It was better when the description referred to it as Gender specific, which meant it was designed according to male or female running habits or manner or something to do with the difference a male or females runs; so much for my dumb theory that it's the difference between foot structure of being a Caucasian and an Asian.

The running shoes specialty store recommended Mizuno Wave Rider 12, as they have done so in the past but I of course refused and opted for the other brands. They have been explaining to me time and again that the problem with me and my feet is not at all structure but with the impact I made every time I landed and touched ground. I was stressing my knees every time I landed at an angle where there was no proper cushioning to absorb the shock or impact it created on my knees.

Mizuno Wave Rider 12 has this kind of cushioning that spreads out evenly thus enabling the shoes to provide cushioning comfort wherever I needed it. Rather than resist the impact it allowed to me transfer weight from heel to toe with much ease and not at all get strained at the midsole because there was a proportionate amount of arch support present.

There's a Difference After All between Asian Made and Western Made Running Shoe...

This thing about gender specific design really works great and this time I know better than not to pay heed to what the running shoes store expert had to say. In fact, my usual running shoe was size 11.5 but the expert at the store told me that Mizuno Wave Riders were sized a bit smaller based on Asian standards. I could have laughed at the explanation but then it dawned on me that my theory was not too dumb after all. Indeed there was a difference but it was sort of barking on the wrong tree.

There really was a difference and it's a good thing that I now listen to experts so I bought the next size which is the Mizuno Wave Rider 12; they also call it the Mizuno Lady Wave Rider 12 Running Shoes.

Now I'm back and running and happy with my Mizuno Wave Rider 12.
